Head to Punta Cana to find a different world!
The Dominican Republic features around 1,000 miles of beaches! With beach locations that border both the Caribbean Sea on one side (the south side) as well as the Atlantic Ocean to the other sides (east and north sides), the Dominican Republic has more than a 1000 uninterrupted miles of beaches. The most important travel destination, Punta Cana, is situated to the southeast. From New York it is possible to reach Punta Cana by airplane in a mere four hours and from South florida it'll only take 120 minutes. The proximity to the US means it is not hard to visit an excellent sunny paradise, without breaking the bank or losing much sleep. However it's not the only justification visitors go there. Punta Cana has a range of fantastic hotels, offering activities you might never get to do back at home. Water sports are readily available. And if you enjoy culture: the capital city Santo Domingo is the eldest city in the New World with many monuments along with landmarks of the early 16th century. Inland from the shoreline, you'll find several mountain ranges with the highest point being close to 10,700 feet. The South East region houses the most Northern rainforest in the world. And of course, there are the tiny islands of Saona and Catalinita, which can be considered as tropical paradises. Many tours are available in Punta Cana, from boat tours to Saona Island to Jungle tours that check out the interior regions.
